4 — Plots & Possibility

In the aftermath of the fight with the Mega-zotl, Step freed a pack of Ahuizotl from the remains, which the Demigods allowed to flee. Step and Dee took samples, and harvested three sets of Ahuizotl claws; Thomas documented the remains and determine that the pack of Ahuizotl had been transformed and maddened by an aggressive alien corruption.

Dee offered an apology for the destruction of the Lady's throne. Thomas cautioned that the corruption was dangerous to the supernatural, and the Lady expressed surprise that he would admit to his divinity. He responded that it would be foolish to deny half of himself, and that "the truth exists whether we like it or not."

The Woven Band returned to the lakeside, and Lucia awoke quite startled and punched Thomas in the jaw. Once they established trust, Lucia told her story and the Woven Band put it together that Marty had tried to sacrifice her in a ritual to dedicate the lagoon to Chalchiuhtlicue. When she awoke and interrupted the ritual, he lost control of the Ahuizotl and was killed, and the Lady had answered her cry for help and spirited her away. Over bad coffee at a 24 hour diner, the Woven Band filled in the blanks for Lucia. When Alexandra offered to let her stay overnight at her home and Weave offered her a job, Lucia broke down into tears of gratitude and overwhelm.

When she got home, Alexandra's mother confirmed that the family would have to find a new place to live. She suggested that perhaps it was time for Alex to focus on herself, and that she could live with her Tio to stay closer to the University. Alexandra found this hard to accept, but her mother promised that she and Alex's dad could handle things without her if they needed to.

Concluding the long Sunday, Step checked in with Alexandra to make sure she was alright, and Thomas arranged a get-together at Elysium with Lily Duval. Dee and Ophelia discussed what Medea's advice to take the knowledge they want by force, and wondered what she wanted with Markos after so long. In researching John Anacreon further, Weave narrowly avoided getting infected by a LinkedIn encounter that destroyed her phone.

Early in the morning, a lone figure approaches Lost Lagoon with a camera in hand. They snap photos of the muddy bank where Marty Coolidge was found, the trees where the lesser fae dwell, the mist floating on the lake, and any remaining signs of the Woven Bands' activities.

On Monday afternoon, the Woven Band returned to the Coolidge home to swap Lucia with the Fetch. Step found Molly's phone and accessed it magically, confirming that she had been aware of the sacrificial ritual. In spite of this fact, Lucia decided to stay a few days to support the kids and then make a graceful exit. When she expressed her desire to get back to normal life, Thomas advised that her that one is more likely to encounter the supernatural if you go looking for it.

As they Demigods tied up the last loose ends, Dee determined that in Alexandra's hands, the bone dagger would help her Bend Fate. Alexandra opened up to tell her friends that her apartment building would be sold; Thomas and Step immediately offered to help fight the eviction of the tenants.

A plan started to form with the realization that the building could be designated a historic site, which could prevent the renovictions. Weave jumped at the chance to fight back against John Anacreon, and although Alexandra needed to think it over, her friends expressed their support and willingness to help her with whatever she decided to do.

Five days passed, during which some tangles tightened. Thomas became more invested in uncovering Chalchiuhtlicue's schemes and determining how much danger Alexandra was in, and also provided a listening ear for Dee's struggles with Medea. Weave's worries regarding her vision of Step's death deepened as she tended to Elysium and its staff. Step grew closer to Alexandra, and helped shoulder some of her burden by tutoring Valentina. And Dee was gifted a gnome-craft distiller for their sanctum from Step, and in return they taught Step about magical distillation.
